    Bought this for a moisturizer. I think this is more of toner or serum before you go in with a moisturizer or face oil. I wasnt fond of the smell either.

Aloe Vera plants naturally contain Aloin, which can give off an onion or garlic smell. It sounds like your Enhancement Gel might have a bit of Aloin contributing to the scent you found unpleasant.
